Nightingale Square

Our brief was to create a garden with life and character to balance contemporary, bright clean interiors.  Retaining two terraced levels rising from the rear of the house, the design included large scale topiary, a clean pallet of perennials and a lawn to establish an inviting journey to a new modern timber clad garden studio at the back of the garden.

Texture and fragrance were central to the planting. A sense of privacy and enclosure for the new small terrace by the studio was created with tall grasses and ornamental trees.

We planted Rugosa Fimbriata, Rosa ‘Sombreuil’ and Moschata Paul's Himalayan Musk. Grasses including Miscanthus sin. 'Malepartus', Sanguisorba o. 'Arnhem' were used alongside Fagus sylvatica and Taxus baccata to create year-round form.

The bespoke garden studio was built on site  by London Garden Studios.
